Laundromat

When you think of the laundromat what picture do you see in your mind?

Well, I think of the germs... so for me I would always think of everyone's dirty clothes being washed before mine. It would just gross me out and I would say "never will I use the matt to wash my clothes"  Actually, when I was looking for my first apartment, my request was washer and dryer please.

AND.. When I was younger obviously I did my laundry at my moms house. Well, to be honest mom did my laundry till I was about 20 (embarrassed to even admit that) :) so with that said I am still learning to this day how to do my laundry correctly (whites/darks/hang dry)

Let's talk now,  I am 26...   I have a washer and dryer in my building but it takes about 2 hours to dry 1 small loud and I end up doing laundry for seriously 5 hours. Especially because I let my laundry pile up for weeks and weeks! (be honest you do it too) I've joked with my clients and said I have 16 loads of laundry and they just laugh because I put it off entirely to long.

Today, I had the morning off and my plan was to wake up nice and ealry to do all my laundry (more than 16 loads) + my comforter and sheets! I got up ate breakfast and sat right on the sofa, felt comfortable and I was thinking hmm... Maybe I will do it tomorrow. I could wake up extra early? No, No, No I said to myself get it done, you have really put it off far to long!!

Just picture this in your mind, Mallery pulling up to the Laundromat jamming to k-love. I was lifting my hands praising, so happy, had a big smile on my face. :) I get out of the car walk into the matt and put all the laundry on the counter, head back out to lock my car. I was ready for action to get it done!

I came back in and as I did I noticed this older man smiling right at me, I said to him "How you doing" He said "I am great how about you?"  I said very well, thank you for asking.  I took a look at the 2 big washers and seen they were taken, no biggie I thought I will use 4 of the smaller washers. I turned and started talking to the nice gentleman he said to me"I seen God in you as soon as you pulled in the parking lot."  He went on to say I really enjoy listening to K-love every morning. That sparked the conversation and we had a 20 min conversation about our amazing Lord and savior!

He opened up his heart and told me he was in the past crack addict and was strung out. I was really into what he had to tell me, his testimony was outstanding. He went on to say that the Lord has really changed his life and that he will never go back to his old ways. I was so inspired and asked him to tell me the story when he decided to give his life to Christ. He said he was 43 and very lost, his girlfriend at the time was really involved in the church. He would go with her but, it wasn't heart felt,  he explained it like just going through the emotions. He said it was one day he woke up and the Lord really spoke to him and said this is what I want you to do. Go to this program and I will heal you from this addiction forever. He said from that day forward he has been clean from everything. I then asked him "how long have you been free from your addictions?"

His response was "I am no longer a recovering addicted, my past has been washed away"  It has been 10 years all thanks to Jesus!!!! I could have screamed I was so happy to hear this. I said since that day you have been clean from all drugs, he said yep even alcohol! I was so proud and really inspired by his story. God had us cross paths for a reason. I lost my uncle, my aunt and my father from drugs. It was so uplifting to hear someone say I am healed by the love of Jesus. He told me what church he went to and the pastors name, I will be attending the Wednesday night classes as soon as I get back from my mission trip!

When I think of this inspiring, uplifting story a scripture keeps coming to mind 2 Corinthians 5:17 "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" Amen!

Please keep Lamar in your prayers. Pray he will be used mightily to glorify the Lord with his strong testimony of faith.

I have to tell you the honest truth. I enjoy the Laundromat! :)  Everything is in his plan.

Ask the Lord to make you new, ask him to take away your addictions and free you forever. God can heal you just like he did Lamar.

I love you all so much!!!  Thanks for your prayers and support!

1 of the top best races I've ever run in my life! ;)

I could not wait to write this post and share my wonderful experience with you all.

Saturday June 30th, 2012
Washington Alliance 5K

My alarm went off about 5:20 a.m and I pressed the snoozed about 10 times before actually getting out of bed. I had 20 min to get ready before we were off to the race. I was so pumped because this was the second church race I had ever done. I hurried up got ready put my Jesus shirt on and could not stop smiling. I just knew it was going to be such a great day.

We arrived about 1 hour before the race started and I thought to myself, let's head down sign up and talk to everyone after you run the 5K. I also wanted to do a short warm up because my legs were still sore from the hill work I did Tuesday..  The weather was perfect for a run,  no sun and race started at 8:30 a.m,  a bit humid but bearable.

We start to walk down to the sign up table and these two guys get out of the car Cedric and Tyler. I looked at my best friend and said you see that guy "Cedric" didn't know his name at the time. I said I will put money on it that he wins the race. We both smiled and agreed.

I then walked up to my beautiful sister in Christ Rachel, told her my name and she gave me a big smile and handed me my goodie bag. This was the best gift bag I had ever received in my entire life. I truly read it over, over and over. I even posted it on Facebook right after. Read it very slowly and think about the scripture message.
I am the VINE, you are the BRANCHES. He who abides in me, and I in him, he is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5

This is very powerful, I am nothing without Christ. Amen.
RUN FOR JESUS!

This was a very special memory that I will never forget. After the race I started talking to a wonderful couple (husband & wife) about their two precious adopted children from China. You know me had to know the entire story. I started asking questions (me=Ms. neb nose) and by the end of the story I had chills down my spine, goose bumps all over my body and the tears (you'd be proud) I held them back. It is truly amazing what they did for these two children. You can just see in mom and dad's eyes the love they have for their two little ones! It always brings a smile to my face to hear inspiring stories like this. Just want to thank this family, my heart will be touched forever!

This is the little boy Nate on my back. He and his sister decided to race each other. They asked me to join them and Nate was treading many feet behind her. I turned around and went back to get him
(I couldn't let him finished behind me) so I said jump on my back. He was like no and kinda looked scared I said it's ok really we will try and catch up to your sister. He hurried up and jumped right on and then started yelling run, run to his sister as we caught up... I started cracking up and said "who's side are you on?" It was a blast! I could not stop laughing as you can see in the picture. ;) My heart was racing too, thought it would be easy running with extra weight, was harder than I thought.. especially with my limp legs. What joy kids bring into your life. I cherish all parents in this world!!  Thanks Nate for trusting me and just jumping on some strangers back. When he was finished he said I am ready to go again. His sister said nope I am finished. Lord, thank you for this awesome morning.

This was the very best part of my entire day. I ran the 5K and yes I did finish 1st in my age group but, didn't even compare to this joy!!!!!!!

I got to meet many aweseome Christians today and also discussed my ministries vision. Lord, I pray that you will open many many doors and make way for Mallery Schaffer Ministries to grow.

Cedric did win the race and I am proud of his hard work and dedication. I pray that he will glorify you Lord with his gifts and the natural talent you have given him.
Philippians 3:14
"I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

At the end of this day I was exhausted but I remember I went to bed with a big HUGE smile on my face! ;) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) GOD YOU ARE AMAZING! I LOVE YOU.

Clean Teeth & Heart

Hello everyone,

For some reason I just can't seem to get this off my mind so I have to post it. I went to get my routine teeth cleaning this past Wednesday and I have to tell you I really look forward to the experience. I know weird right. I don't know if I liked doing this when I was younger but ever since I can remember I really enjoy it. I even go every 4 months and I am pretty sure it's mandatory every 6 months.

Well there is a reason to this weird story... Teeth clean =  WHAT??? You have a healthy looking smile and you do everything you can to prevent cavity's or expensive dental work. After you get them cleaned you do what take care of them by brushing, floss (every once in a while for me I admit ;) and you keep up with the process. I even go to the extreme I don't drink juice, teas, coffee or anything that will stain, just water.

After I left the dentist I licked my teeth and said "wow what a great feeling." My dental hygienist is fantastic,  thank you Lord for her open heart. Doc came in for a couple minutes told me they looked great, no cavities and I was free to go.

I know all of you are wondering where is she going with this story..

Most people first of all hate the dentist and don't enjoy going.. Right? When I left the dentist I compared my clean teeth to my new life. When I accepted the Lord into my heart back in Dec. of 2008 I said to myself Lord, I don't know what it means to walk with you BUT I am all yours.

TEETH CLEAN = WHITE SMILE + Continual MAINTENANCE

Exercise = New body (had to throw that in here)

SALVATION = NEW YOU + Continual maintence

By this meaning when you say I give my life to you Lord that is not the end of your salvation. I know as my experience I was wondering Ok.. what is next? I don't know anything about the Lord. How am I going to be HOLY right now when I am living in sin... ?  That was me then, I am now a new person, he convicted me of the sins and HE changed them for his good. This was NOT me. Just like my teeth, I didn't clean them my sweet dental hygienist cleaned my teeth but after I made sure to do my best to take care of them and do what she said. This is the same with your heart for the Lord... Tell him how much you love him but also show him by your actions. Keep the bible close by and meditate on it.

Don't think just because you haven't had your teeth cleaned in 5 years doesn't mean you shouldn't go. It means you need it more than I do. Just being honest ;)

Same with your salvations, just because you told the Lord 10 years ago you loved him, fell off, are confused about life, not putting God first, this doesn't mean you can't go back to him. He will welcome you with open loving arms. I always say in my mind God is a good God, repeat that God is a good God, say it again God is a good God.  He (key word he)  wants to make us holy. If you surrender don't worry about you doing it, he will do it with in you. Change your heart!

You will wake up one day and say man looking back I can't believe I did this or wow thank you Lord for breaking me free from this. I myself have been healed from drugs using, cigarette smoking, constant self pitty, broken heart, grief of a loss, speaking profound to and about others and this list could go on. No I am not perfect but I do thank him every day for making me a new person. Memories are in the past, dreams are in the future. His will for my life truly makes me smile from ear to ear.

I am clean and my heart has been made new. I do not know it all or even understand everything (never will till I get to Heaven) but I see how Christ has not only changed me but I can see clearly what he has done to those surrounding me. THANK YOU JESUS!

My teeth are sparkling clean but so it my heart. They are both smiling right now.

If you haven't given your life to Christ... It's never to late, he can make you new too. Ask him to come into your heart, your life will never be the same. This was the best decision I have ever and will ever make in my life.

Love you all. Thanks for your prayers and continual love. God bless you,

Mallery

Child Like Faith! :)

When you think of child like faith, what comes to my mind?

When I accepted the Lord in Dec of 2008 into my heart, I didn't know anything about the bible or what the next step was BUT I knew by faith and prayer God would guide me into his will for my life. Since that day I have learned to trust in him for everything.

I had to post this today... I was on my way home and as some might know I had my first healing class today at Victory Church. I am taking the class to understand more about healing (specific scripture) and would like to become a prayer partner at my church.  I thank the Lord I made this decision,  met many great people and I just know it's going to be a great class. .. I am now listening to pastor John's healing series and I can't stop thinking about this...

It was about 12:30 in the afternoon today,  I was on my way home from church and kinda wondering what I should do today.. Hmm.. Run, visit mom, do my healing homework, clean, laundry.. My mind was racing... Then, God spoke to me... He said are you living every day as it were your last? I started to laugh and said to myself, If today were my last day what would I do? My mind then started to wander and I realized that I was speeding in the left lane... When I got in the correct (slow lane) it was right in front of my eyes child like faith... Guess what I was looking at?

The picture explains it all,  he has not a worry in the world. His mouth was wide open, he didn't care about the bugs flying in, all I couldn't see was his tongue licking the air and the HUGE grin on his face. This made me so happy. Really think about your life. Why not live it like this? Today is truly a present and gift from God. We don't know what tomorrow may bring. Child like faith = Trusting in the Lord and bring like little man in the picture above.. Enjoying the journey. Amen!

Now, I ask you to take a challenge and enjoy every second of the day. Be positive for 30 days, listen to K-Love radio station, pop in a DVD of your past church sermon, visit the family christian book store and browse for hours to buy someone you normally would not purchase. I love Joyce Meyer and Beth Moore!

I need help from you all who check my blog.. Let me know what I should name this little guy? I said to myself when I got behind the car in the slow lane... Oh man I want a little dog and the Lord said patience, patience, patience.  He's right.. We someone want what we don't necessarily need at the time. Think about that, let it sink in. God knows what we need. Take on his plan not your own. Amen!

Love you all so much! Child like faith is the best <3

Nourishment

Nourishment = Genesis 1:29

And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.

I went to a seminar yesterday hosted by Market District & Jessica Dugan the wonderful dietitian. I want to share a few things I learned from her.

Veggies & Fruits that are in season right now: Corn, lettuce, watermelon, strawberries, cantaloupe, cherries, blueberries, peaches, apricots. You can also purchase them frozen and receive the same amount of nutrients.

Tips on getting more antioxidants:

- Eat a rainbow of fruits and vegetables. The colors of fruits and vegetables are clues about the types of nutrients they provide. To get a variety of nutrients, eat the variety of colors.

- Be adventurous in the product section:

* Chose a colorful fruit you have never tried (DRAGON FRUIT) in the best. It taste similar to a Kiwi.
* Pick a new fruit each time you shop

- Plan a least two dinners per week with beans as the main source of protein
- Experiment with fresh herbs and spices
- Chose whole grain products (brown rice and whole wheat pasta)
- Add nuts to your salad, soups and cereals
- Snack on fresh veggies with a hummus or bean dip
- Eat salsa as a snack with eggs

Ok after hearing all these great things on nutrition they made the best Veg-Tastic Veggie Burger. I can't wait to make it. Here is the recipe:

Prep time: 30 min
Cooking time: 12 min

Ingredients:
3/4 cup of uncooked quinoa
1.5 cups of water
1.4 cups of flax seed meal
1.4 cup of warm water
2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
1.2 tsp black pepper
1 cup of onion (I will eliminate)
2 garlic gloves
15.5 oz of can chick peas
2 tbsp. plus 2 tsp canola oil
half cup of red bell peppers diced
1 cup of carrots
1.4 cup green onion diced
1.4 cilantro ( I couldn't even taste but I will leave this out)

I was so impressed with everything! Was the best veggie burger I had ever tasted.

What is a gift to you?

Hello Everyone! I first want to ask you, please forgive me. I haven't been posting on my blog much. Well, I want you all to know I am back... Full swing!

Today I felt lead to share with you all what I gift truly is to me.

Saturday 6/18/12 I ran Day Spring 5K out in Elwood City. What was the gift this day? It wasn't the trophy that I hold (1st place in age group) 7th over all. The gift was the two people standing next to me John and Cynthia. Pray for Day Spring Ministries, amazing to hear how faithful the Lord has been to them both.

Sunday- Fathers Day! The gift was meeting a new sister in Christ Sarah. Now, look at the little baby, her name is FAITH and she is the happiest baby I think I ever held in my life. What a gift to hold and love on her. What joy this brought to my day. Justin and I were friends as a teen,  I was very happy to see him again, I also got to hear how he was doing and spend some time with his family.  God on this day I cried out to you and truly thought I had nothing to give but when I am weak and missing my earthly father you gave me the strength. Thank you Lord.

Monday I received a GIFT in the mail from my wonderful Tierney family. It reads When I think of the people who have made a difference in my life you quickly come to my mind. The wisdom you've share and the faith you've shown have blessed me more than you know.

I appreciate you so much and I'm asking God to bless you for all the ways you've been a blessing.

Lord, you amaze me. Shelia, Erica and Sammy have been such blessings in my life. I come home on Monday, saying to the Lord "what's the next steps in my ministry" I open the mail and here is this card. It was confirmation that this is what God has called me to do. The gift is Shelia, Erica and Sammie's love. They will be in my heart forever. Thank you Lord for not only bringing wonderful women into my life that support my business, they also support you in me. Hallelujah! God is so faithful.

Wednesday TODAY: I go over my neighbor's and sister in Christ Trish's to give her the mail I collected while she was gone. LOOK what she gave me A GIFT. A hug would have been good but she gave me both the shirt and a BIG hug. I love all my neighbors here in this complex. The gift was fellowing with Trish and knowing that she thought of me while she was away on her trip. Thank you Lord for great neighbors.

OK TODAY: No matter what remember that gifts come in all forms. They can be tangible or at times you don't even realize they are right in front of you.

The ultimate gift is your LIFE!!! Your days are numbered. Every breath you take is a gift. Make your second count. Make your hour count! Make a difference today.
 LIVE FOR JESUS!!

Mallery Schaffer Ministries Update

Thursday - May 17th, 2012

This is a much needed post about what's next.  I first want to start off with thanking all of you for believing in me. Your continual prayers are so appreciated.

In February of this year as you know I had the kick off for Mallery Schaffer Ministries.  I am so thankful God has placed this on my heart to use fitness as a platform to share the gospel. I've seen women change right in front of my eyes. God is so good.

My goal was to raise just enough to start the process of being a non-profit that can receive tax deductible gifts. Hallelujah - God always makes a way and we raised every penny needed and a little bit more. The paper work should be filed with in the next few weeks. I will make sure to post the documentation with a picture of the proof.

As of right now I will be setting up a separate (make a difference) account at the bank and getting idea's, suggestions and support from people like you. If you know someone that has a printing business and would like to donate their services to help my ministry with the print of gospel tracks and donation envelopes,  please contact me immediately or pass my information along to them. This will not only help people get to know Christ, I will have the opportunity to give each person something tangible to read.

When the paper work is filed, I will be setting up a meeting with all board directors and treasurer.

The topics: If you have any suggestions, please feel free to email me Inspiremefitness@gmail.com

#1. How to fundraise for the non-profit (events, donations, races, charities, speaking engagements, monthly ministry support)

#2. Expanding the sermon/fitness class that will start back up Wednesday evenings. How to start approaching churches to start small faith/fitness women's groups. How many days a week? What topics/visuals to use in class.

#3. How much funding will we need before we start sharing the gospel in drug rehab centers (my heart) nursing homes, schools, hospitals and churches. What's the goals?

Thanks again for your continual love, support and prayer with out you all this ministry would not be standing.

Have a blessed day. Much love!

Mallery
